“The 14th R One” Soldier Support program is a volunteer-based support system, to provide support to the veterans of the 14th Cavalry Regiment who may be struggling with post military service. In an effort to open the lines of communication, the 14th Cavalry Association has volunteers who are willing to provide support to veterans. The support may consist of someone with similar life experiences to talk to, help in networking for employment, or providing experience in transitioning from active duty. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for the suicide hotline; however, the ability for fellow Troopers to reach out prior to that is our goal and if warranted encourage those to seek immediate professional help. Our community is small and all efforts must be exhausted to not only help those that have served but also demonstrate our ability to support the future generation of troopers.
